Fall Cleanse

This fall I decided to do a cleanse. It’s especially good to do with the change in seasons. Usually I do juice cleanses alongside colonics. This was the first time I did an Ayurvedic cleanse. It consisted mostly of green juice and an Indian dish called kitchari.

Here is a photo of the first bowl of kitchari I’ve ever made! It is mostly mung beans and basmati rice with Indian spices. It’s delicious. I never felt hungry. I found it to be nourishing and comforting in the fall weather. Mung beans help to detoxify by drawing out toxins in the intestines.


It was a 7-day on-line cleanse.  I was surprised at how well it worked to do online.  We also did aloe vera/tumeric shots and castor oil with apple juice.  Both concoctions help to detox.

Everytime I cleanse, I’m always amazed at the benefit and wonder why I don’t eat more cleanly regularly.   It helps to re-set your health system, and motivate you to eat and live healthier.

Here’s a brief recap of my cleansing experience:

1.  The first day or two are tough.  I experienced detox right away.  Brain fog, exhaustion and feeling totally out of it.

2.  Creative flow.  The second day, after feeling awful, I took a nap during the day.  When I woke up, I suddenly had the energy to work on a creative project that has been on the back burner.. not months.. YEARS.  4 years to be exact.  It was a video project explaining coaching.  So simple, but always had a block around actually doing it.  I attributed this inspiration from the cleanse having helped remove blocks.

3.  A time of inner work.  During cleanses, I find it a wonderful time to be inner and introspective.  I noticed that my thoughts were a lot less negative.  I was able to shift more easily into higher states of being like peace and gratitude.

Detox really helps to rid ourselves of more than just toxins.  It can help us let go of fear, worry and limiting beliefs.  I noticed that it was easier for me to shift my consciousness during a cleanse.  Certain things stopped bothering me.  Everything felt easier.  I also noticed a high degree of flow, synchronicity and manifestation during a cleanse.  No doubt there is something to fasting and prayer.  It seems we’re able to channel greater prana (universal energy) when we’re clear.

Overall, I feel lighter – and more healthy.
