Many people, myself included, are experiencing a lot of change and transformation. Recently it’s inspired me to write “The Survival Guide to the Hero’s Journey.” In December of 2012, I published “Moving Toward Source,” a guide about the changes, shifts and healing we’d experience individually and collectively at end of the Mayan calendar (Dec. 21, 2012). It’s like a survival guide to the Hero’s Journey. Moving Toward Source is about how we are moving from the Age of Reason to the Age of Intuition. The days of ego, will and force are coming to a close, but it will not go down without a fight. Hence, the brutality we see in the Middle East.
Moving Toward Source is about the re-alignment to who we are. As we re-align ourselves, it can be a fierce and fiery path filled with uncertainty, demons, tests and challenges. It’s a battle of light and dark. Our higher selves and lower selves. What we know and what we really feel.
If you’re experiencing great change, uncertainty, turmoil, shifts.. you’re not alone. Little did I know, and little was I prepared for the ring of fire I’d experience post 2012. When I wrote Moving Toward Source, I thought that maybe my spiritual training would somehow prepare me for the changes ahead, but 2013 was markedly the most challenging year of my life. Everything I knew was severely tested. I experienced great loss. I lost my health, relationships, pets.. I lost my hair. I almost lost my faith. It has taken me til now to feel comfortable speaking about this more publicly, because it’s taken me this long to integrate the experiences I went through over the last several years.
Many of us are experiencing the hero’s journey. You could also call your path your dharma, your destiny, your life purpose. It is the path of transformation.
If you’re embarking on the hero’s journey, you’re not supposed to know what your path is going to look like. That’s the way it is. It’s mysterious and it will surprise you by taking you beyond what you already know. It requires us to surrender to the unknown. Joseph Campbell said, “If you can see your path laid out in front of you step by step, you know it’s not your path.”
If you can’t see what’s ahead of you, it’s not a bad sign.
If you want to know more about the shift, and the healing signs, you can view a free copy by clicking Moving Toward Source . It’s a 27 page pdf. Thanks always for reading and staying in touch. ~ Sura
